Local students named to McDaniel College Dean's List
McDaniel College recently announced its fall 2013 Dean's List in recognition of students' academic excellence. Highest honors are earned for a semester grade point average of 3.90 or higher, high honors for a grade point average of 3.70-3.89, and honors for a 3.50-3.69 average.

Students earn scholarships at Fort Lewis College
Several area residents received merit scholarships to attend Fort Lewis College for the Fall 2013 semester. These merit scholarships are renewable for up to 120 credits if criteria are met. Fort Lewis College also offers several other scholarships, including grants, the Finish in Four! Scholarship, FLC Foundation scholarships, alumni scholarships, departmental scholarships, Native American scholarships, and outside scholarships.

Local Residents Make Dean's List at Azusa Pacific University
Several local residents made the academic Dean's List at Azusa Pacific University. These students are honored for a spring 2012 academic standing of a 3.5 grade-point average or better. They are joined by 1,650 students receiving the same honor.

McDaniel College welcomes Class of 2015
Nearly 440 members strong, McDaniel's freshman class represents an impressive array of diversity, scholarship and leadership.
- Three-fourths performed community service and half held leadership roles during their high school years.
- 40 percent are the first in their families to attend college.
- 38 percent come from out-of-state.
- The Class of 2015 represents 25 states stretching from Washington state to California to Florida to Vermont.
- They hail from the U.S. and six other countries: Bahamas, China, Ecuador, Germany, Korea and Vietnam.
